AWARD WINNERS ARE QUIDS IN!

AWARD WINNERS ARE QUIDS IN!

Over the past few weeks, St. Martin’s have been proud to award 3 pupils of each year group, monetary awards for their attendance over the Autumn Term. The school requires all pupils to attain minimum 95% in their attendance, and as a whole school we are currently successfully operating at 95.1%.

Every pupil’s contribution makes a significant difference, not only impacting upon the success of the school community, but more importantly, the success of our pupils. Every school day missed has an impact upon teaching and learning. Therefore, we are keen to recognise the efforts of every pupil in trying to improve their attendance figures, and in doing so, this terms prizes were awarded at £30 for 100% attendance; £20 and £10 for most improved.

The lucky winners for their attendance over the Autumn term were:

DID YOU KNOW…?

For every day of school missed by a pupil it will reduce their attendance by 0.5%.

Ten whole days of school has been missed if your child has 95% attendance.  Twenty whole days of school has been missed if a pupil’s attendance is 90%.

By the time a pupil is persistently absent (85% attendance) they have missed 6 weeks, or half a term of schooling!

I’m sure that with continued effort by ourselves, coupled with the help of yourselves, then we can continue to make further improvements in our attendance figures.

Remember, You’ve got to be in it (school!) to win it!! Will you be one of our winners of the Spring Term???
