  • PTFA Meeting

    Published 13/11/21

    Good afternoon parents / guardians,

A new school year begins and along with it another year of events are planned to raise much needed funds for our school to enable our children’s experience and memories of St Martin's to be the best they can be. Can you spare an hour a month to help? Have you any ideas or suggestions for new events or ways to improve past events?
We invite you to join our PTFA, along with your children's teachers and school staff and community leaders as we work toward enriching the lives of all of the students at our school.
Thank you to those parents who have already expressed an interest in establishing St Martin's PTFA - Parent Teacher Friends Association
(Upcoming events include the Christmas Concert / Fayre due to take place on 9th December)
A meeting will be held on Tuesday 16th November 2021 at 4.30pm in the School Library in the New Building, where refreshments will be provided.
We look forward to welcoming you at this meeting.
If you would like to let us know that you will be attending please email, otherwise please feel free to just come along.

Attached is the entry form and affiliation form for the Welsh Schools Trampoline Competition 2021/22 to be held on Sunday 23rd January 2022 at Sports Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff CF11 9SW.

A copy of the rules can be found at

BSGA Trampoline Competition Rules 2021-22 Issue 1

BSGA Trampoline Competition Rules 2021-22 – Issue 1 0. Special Exceptions and Changes for 2021-22 0.1 Section 3 Exceptional COVID circumstances and eligibility: We recognise that many potential entrants will have had little or no training for the past 18 months.

The closing date for entries is Friday 10th December 2021.

Please submit your entry forms by email.  We can then process your entries automatically, which keeps our workload down and avoids typing mistakes.  If you experience any difficulties with the form or cannot submit an email entry, please contact us.

The competition dates are as follows:

Welsh Regional: Sunday 23rd January 2022 at Sports Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff CF11 9SW

Central Zonal: Sunday 30th January 2022 at Hinckley Leisure Centre, Argents Mead, Hinckley LE10 1BZ

National Finals: Saturday 12th March 2022 at tbc (Yorkshire Region to host)

Because of the short time between the Welsh Regional and Zonal competition, completed entry forms and payment MUST be submitted in person on the Welsh Regional Sunday 23rd January competition day. Details will be available nearer the time. No entries will be allowed at any other time.

As the current Covid-19 situation is unpredictable, please be patient if rules for the running of the competition change frequently leading up to the competition day. There may be limits on spectator numbers and we may ask all gymnasts to leave the venue as soon as their group's medal ceremony is completed. Please make allowances for this when arranging chaperones.

Currently, the competition will be held on 6x4 beds.

  • Year 11 Parents' Consultation Evening

    Published 05/11/21

    Dear Parent/Guardian,
I am pleased to invite you to our Year 11 Parents’ Consultation Evening, which will take place online Thursday 11th November 4pm - 7pm.  The main focus of the evening will be to give you an update on your child’s academic progress.  There will also be an opportunity to discuss any other concerns, for example well being and behaviour.

Due to COVID numbers still being a concern in our community the school has decided to keep this event as virtual. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and receive an email confirming your appointments. These appointments will then be conducted using the same website via its video calls feature (you will have the option to just use the audio and turn off the camera if you wish). Please watch this parent training video for more information. As many of you will know, Parents’ Evenings are always busy occasions, therefore, this software will also ensure appointments are kept to 4 minutes, with a 1 minute gap in between each. This will help the teachers to keep to their tight schedule of appointments and eliminate waiting times for you.

Appointments can be made from Monday 8th November at 7am and will close on Thursday 11th November at 3pm.  Please log into to access the platform.

We look forward to speaking with you on 11th November 2021.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mr C Thomas
